Is Your Jesus Who You Think He Is?

Jesus Christ is a well-known historical figure. He is also the most widely known religious figure in history, We in the United States are especially familiar with Him. Indeed, some surveys suggest that 50% of our adult population consider Him their Lord. Regardless how accurate any survey is, it is evident that many people in this country think they know who Jesus is, and are basing their eternal hope on that belief.

Jesus said, "Many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many. " There are many today who preach Jesus as the Christ, and proclaim Him as a loving, healing, forgiving, gentle, caring, and patient Lord, but they are deceiving many, No, they are not deceiving people by saying Jesus is that way, for He certainly is. They are deceiving people by what they do not say. You will understand better if I ask you a few questions, and you will also be better able to determine if Jesus is who you think He is.

Did your Jesus say, "He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me. And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me is not worthy of me. He that findeth his life shall lose it: and he that loseth his life for my sake shall find it"? (Matthew 10:37-39).

Or did He say, "Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity"? (Matthew 7:21-23).

Again, did your Jesus say, "Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name's sake. And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another. And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many. And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold. But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved"? (Matthew 24:9-13).

Or did He say, "I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot. So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth. . . . As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore,, and repent"? (Revelation 3:15, 16, 19).

Of course, the true Jesus said all these things and much, much more, which He obviously wants us to know and obey. As He said again, "If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; and ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free" (John 8:31, 32).

Oh! So many today need to be set free from deceptions about Jesus! So many think that Jesus only wants to make them feel good! So many have forsaken nothing to follow their Jesus! So many think that He excuses their sins! So many do not believe that He is a consuming fire and is coming in His righteousness to judge the earth and all the inhabitants thereof! The righteous will be vindicated, but there will be wrath upon those who are disobedient. So many will find out in that day that Jesus is not who they thought He was!

Some of the Lord's last recorded words were "Behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be" (Revelation 22:12). 1 beseech you in Jesus' Name, find out quickly who Jesus really is
